🛍️ Too many baby clothes!
With our first pregnancy, we were guilty of getting carried away with purchasing too many baby clothes. It wasn’t until we had to update his wardrobe that we realised how many outfits were brand new and ended up sitting in storage unused!
Our babies sleep so often in the first few months, and subsequently, Noah was in a swaddle more often than he was in an outfit - Hence a lot of his clothes were a significant waste of time and money.
With our second pregnancy, we sized up 2-3 sizes to ensure that he wouldn’t outgrow his clothes before getting a chance to wear them 😉
🛍️ Baby shoes
As cute as they are, spending money on newborn and infant shoes turned out to be a considerable waste of both time and money - A mistake I wouldn’t make again until they were confidently walking. However, even after they begin walking, encouraging your toddler to explore various textures without shoes offers more valuable sensory exploration opportunities, including experiences with hard/soft and rough/smooth surfaces 🪨
🛍️ Changing table
This may ruffle a few feathers, but while a changing table offers convenience for us and our posture, they pose significant safety risks. As my grandmother once said, “your baby can never fall further than the floor.”
Since both our babies started rolling at 3-4 months and never stayed still during nappy changes, we thankfully chose not to invest in one. This approach also reduces hazards when your toddler starts to climb and explore 🪜
What are some things you purchased during pregnancy and didn’t use? 💫🫶🏻🩷
