When should I lower the cot mattress?

Juuuuuust as you’re getting accustomed to moving your baby from their bassinet to their cot, it won’t be long before you’ll need to lower their mattress (much to our backs despise 🩻) 😅🤣🥲

So, when is the best time to lower the cot mattress? 🤔
Generally, between 5-8 months of age, once your baby is able to sit, crawl, or starts to show signs of pulling themselves upright, is the time to lower their mattress to prevent any falls 🩷

Rest assured, this will be the last adjustment you’ll need to make before moving them into a big bed, ideally after the age of 3, as this is when your toddler will typically begin to develop some level of impulse control and an understanding of basic rules and boundaries 🤞🏻

If despite these tips your baby is still catnapping, resisting sleep, or waking frequently overnight, book a consultation or download or Sleep Essentials Guide at www.settletosleep.com.au so we can support you in restoring sleep for you and your family 🩷🌸💫
