When should my baby drop a nap?

If your baby is showing signs of being undertired at bedtime, it could* indicate that they are ready to drop a nap if they are at or approaching the below ages 😴

Signs of being undertired at bedtime include:
😫 Resisting sleep
😫 Difficulty falling asleep
😫 Unconsolidated naps
😫 Catnapping
😫 Waking frequently overnight
😫 Long wakeful periods overnight
😫 Early rising
😫 Waking up happy
😫 Playing in their cot

Typical ages to drop a nap:
👶🏻 3-4 months old: Structured 3 naps
👶🏻 7-9 months old: Transition from 3 to 2 naps
👶🏻 14-18 months old: Transition from 2 to 1 nap
👶🏻 2-3 years old: Transition from 1 to no nap

When your baby drops a nap, we usually suggest an earlier* bedtime for a few days during the adjustment period. This prevents them from going to bed overtired and facilitates a smoother transition into their new sleep routine 🥰

Please note that this is a general guide, as every baby is unique and has different sleep needs 👶🏻💫
